Getting started

Installing Preorderline Pro

Upload the Preorderline Pro zip, activate it next to Preorderline, and enter your license key.

Note

This is part of Preorderline Pro.

Preorderline Pro is an add-on: it adds payment options, automatic release, limits and the "When out of stock" mode to Preorderline, which stays installed and keeps doing everything else. You need both.

Before you start

  • WooCommerce and Preorderline 1.0.0 or later, installed and active. If you don't have Preorderline yet, install it from Plugins → Add New Plugin (search for "Preorderline"); see Installation.
  • The preorderline-pro.zip file and the license key from your purchase email. Both are in the email Lemon Squeezy sent after you bought Preorderline Pro.
  • To charge saved cards on release: the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway plugin, set up with saved cards. Everything else works with any payment method.

Install and activate

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin and click Upload Plugin at the top.
  2. Choose preorderline-pro.zip and click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate Plugin.

WordPress won't activate Preorderline Pro while Preorderline or WooCommerce is inactive; it lists what's missing instead. Activate those first.

Enter your license key

Back on the Plugins screen, there's a box under Preorderline Pro:

The license box under Preorderline Pro on the Plugins screen
  1. Paste the license key from your purchase email.
  2. Click Activate.

The box turns green and shows the end of your key and, for a yearly license, the date your updates run until. The key activates Preorderline Pro on this site only; see Licenses and updates for moving it to another site.

Note

The features work as soon as the plugin is active, with or without a license. The license is what lets WordPress download updates.

Check it works

  • WooCommerce → Settings → Products → Pre-orders now has Customers pay, Deposit, Deposit refunds, Balance reminder and Release settings above the texts.
  • A product's Pre-order tab has When out of stock among its modes, and Customers pay, Deposit and Pre-order limit fields.
  • WooCommerce → Settings → Payments lists Pay when a pre-order is released.

While Preorderline Pro isn't active

Its settings stay saved. Preorderline leaves them alone, and as soon as Preorderline Pro is active again, products paid on release or with a deposit, limits, "When out of stock" products and your store-wide payment settings work again, with nothing to re-enter. Orders placed with them are picked up too.
