FAQ

Short answers to common questions about Wholesaleline.

Does Wholesaleline slow my site down?

No. For guests and customers without a group or price list, it only checks whether prices are hidden. For customers with their own prices, it works their prices out once per page and keeps them for the rest of the page. It adds no database tables. On your store's pages it adds only a small script to the Checkout block, for Pay on account; its other scripts and styles load only on its own admin screens, product screens and user profiles.

Can a customer be in more than one group?

No, one group at most. For a customer who needs something different from their group, give them their own price list, tax setting, payment terms or balance limit on their profile.

Do group prices work with variable products?

Yes. Each variation can have its own price per group, under Variations. Variations without one use the product's group price, then the group's category and store-wide prices.

Do applicants have to wait before they can log in?

No. Applying creates (or keeps) a normal customer account: applicants log in and shop at regular prices straight away. Only their group waits for your approval.

Can customers upload documents with their application?

No. The form takes plain text answers only. Ask for a tax or VAT number, and request certificates by email if you need them.

Does Pay on account take a payment?

No. The customer places the order without paying and pays you later, by bank transfer or however you agree. You record the payment on the order with Record payment on account.

Does it work with the Checkout block?

Yes. Group prices, quantity rules, the minimum order, payment and shipping methods, tax exemption and Pay on account work in the Cart and Checkout blocks and in the classic cart and checkout.

Does it support High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS)?

Yes, and the older posts storage too.

Does it work on multisite?

Yes. Each site has its own groups, settings, customer settings and applications.

What happens when my license expires?

Wholesaleline keeps working: every feature stays. Only updates stop until you renew (see Licenses and updates).

What happens to my data if I delete Wholesaleline?

When you click Deactivate on the Plugins screen, Wholesaleline asks what should happen to its data if you then delete the plugin. Keep it (the default) and everything is still there if you install Wholesaleline again. Choose Delete it permanently when the plugin is deleted to remove its settings, customer groups (customers keep their accounts and pay regular prices), every price list and quantity rule, customers' payment terms, tax settings and applications, and the Pay on account settings when you delete it. Orders keep their payment terms and due dates, and deactivating alone never removes anything.
