Which products can have options?
Simple and variable products. On a variable product the options are the same for every variation, and their prices are added to the chosen variation's price.
Is there a limit on fields or choices?
No. Keep the product page readable: a few well-named options sell better than a long form.
Can the same options be used on many products?
In Optionline, each product has its own options; you can duplicate a product (Products → Duplicate) to copy them. Optionline Pro's global option groups apply the same options to all products, chosen categories or tags, or chosen products.
Does it work with the Cart and Checkout blocks?
Yes, and with the classic cart and checkout pages, the mini cart and block themes. Both checkouts save the options on the order the same way.
Do the options change stock?
No. Options are details of the product line; they don't have stock of their own.
Are the options in emails?
Yes, in WooCommerce's order emails to the customer and the store, as details under the product.
Can customers change their options in the cart?
Like any cart line, they can remove it and add the product again with other options. Changing the quantity keeps the options.
What happens if I change an option after orders were placed?
Orders keep what the customer chose and paid. Carts that already hold the product keep their choices too; the changes apply to new add-to-carts.
What does Optionline Pro add?
Global option groups, fields that only show when another field has a certain answer, number, date, colour, swatch, file upload and quantity fields, percentage, per-character and per-unit prices, prices charged once per cart line, and limits such as a maximum length or number of choices. Optionline keeps doing everything else.
What happens to my options if I delete Optionline?
When you click Deactivate, Optionline asks what should happen to its data if you then delete it. Keep it (the default) and your products' options are there if you install Optionline again. Choose Delete it permanently when the plugin is deleted to remove them when you delete it. Orders always keep the options customers chose.
