Working with other plugins
Slotline delivery dates, Preorderline pre-orders, Returnline returns, the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway, and why Depositline pauses beside another deposits plugin.
Depositline picks these plugins up by itself: there's nothing to set up beyond the settings below.
Slotline: due before the delivery date
When an order has a Slotline delivery or pickup date, its balance is due a few days before that date instead of a number of days after the deposit. Set how many under WooCommerce → Depositline → Balance due: days before the delivery or pickup date, for orders with one (Slotline) (2 by default). If that day has already passed, the balance is due today.
When the date changes, on the order screen or by the customer in Slotline Pro, the balance's due date and its reminders move with it, and the order gets a note such as "Balance due date moved to November 18, 2026 with the new delivery date." A due date you set by hand on the order stays as you set it.
With Slotline Pro, a Partially paid order counts like a processing one: the customer can change their delivery date in My Account, and gets Slotline Pro's reminder email before the delivery.
Preorderline: pre-orders keep their own payment
- A product taking pre-orders in Preorderline is paid the way Preorderline says, never with a Depositline deposit, even if it has a deposit setting.
- Pre-orders and items paid with a deposit can't share a cart. Adding one next to the other is refused with "Pre-orders and deposit items must be ordered separately." Items without a deposit can go with either.
Returnline: returns after the balance
A customer can't ask to return items from an order whose balance is still unpaid. Returnline shows "Items from this order can be returned once its balance is paid." Once the balance is paid, returns work as usual.
The WooCommerce Stripe Gateway
- Cards saved with it can be charged for the balance on its due date. See Collecting the balance.
- Its express payment buttons (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link) are hidden while a deposit is paid, since they'd charge the whole cart.
Other deposits plugins
Depositline pauses while one of these is active:
- WooCommerce Deposits, by WooCommerce or by Webtomizer
- Deposits & Partial Payments for WooCommerce, by Acowebs
- Deposits & Partial Payments for WooCommerce (Bayna), by Codeixer
- YITH WooCommerce Deposits / Down Payments
They change the same cart totals and order statuses, so the two can't run together. While one is active, the admin screens say "Depositline is paused while … is active", and Depositline:
- takes no deposits at checkout;
- sends no reminders and charges no cards;
- still shows its settings page and importer.
Deactivate the other plugin to use Depositline. The balances it already had pick up where they were (see Reminders and overdue balances), and, coming from WooCommerce Deposits, it can import that plugin's settings and open balances: see Importing from another deposits plugin.
Note
The importer reads WooCommerce Deposits, by WooCommerce or by Webtomizer. The settings and open balances of Deposits & Partial Payments for WooCommerce and of the YITH plugin aren't imported, and the notice says so: set up your deposits in Depositline again.
