Getting started
Requirements
The WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions Depositline needs, what it works with, and where it keeps its data.
Versions
| Minimum | |
|---|---|
| WordPress | 6.5 |
| WooCommerce | 8.2 |
| PHP | 7.4 (8.1 or later recommended) |
Depositline is tested with the latest WordPress and WooCommerce releases.
Works with
- Checkout: the Checkout block and the classic shortcode checkout. Both show the deposit choice, the "Balance, paid later" line and the saved-card checkbox.
- Order storage: High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) and the older posts storage.
- Payment methods: any, for the deposit and for the balance's payment link. Charging the balance to a saved card on its due date needs the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway. See Collecting the balance.
- Product types: the deposit fields are on simple and variable products and on each variation.
- Extendiment plugins: Slotline, Preorderline and Returnline. See Working with other plugins.
- Other deposits plugins: not at the same time. Depositline pauses while one is active, and can import from WooCommerce Deposits and WooCommerce Deposits by Webtomizer. See Importing from another deposits plugin.
Where Depositline keeps its data
Depositline adds no tables of its own. It keeps:
- Its settings in one WordPress option, and the license in another.
- Deposit settings on products and variations (product meta) and on product categories (term meta).
- Deposits and balances on the orders themselves (order meta): the balance, its due date, the link between the deposit order and its balance order, the customer's agreement to a saved-card charge, and the next reminder step. The "Balance, paid later" line is an ordinary fee line on the order.
- Reminders and charges as scheduled actions in WooCommerce's Action Scheduler (Tools → Scheduled Actions, group
depositline), one per open balance.
Orders always stay. Deleting the plugin can remove the rest: see FAQ.
Multisite
Depositline can be activated per site or network-wide. Each site has its own settings, products, orders and reminders.
