Working with other plugins
What Folioline adds to Packboard, Returnline, Wholesaleline and Fieldline, and how it gets along with other tax and checkout plugins.
Each part below works only while that plugin is active. Nothing needs setting up.
Packboard
On Packboard's fulfilment board:
- An "Invoice" print document. Print it for one order and the invoice PDF opens. For several orders, a page lists each order's invoice with an Open PDF link, or "No invoice yet".
- A tag on each order card with the invoice number, or "No invoice", so you can see at a glance which orders still need one.
Returnline
On a return's page, a Credit notes box lists the refunds the return made, each with its credit note number, amount and downloads. A refund without a credit note shows "Refund of €20.00: no credit note yet." and an Issue credit note button; if the order has no invoice, the box says there's nothing to credit yet.
Credit notes for return refunds are issued like for any refund: see Credit notes.
Wholesaleline
An invoice for an order placed with Wholesaleline's Pay on account is due on the order's own due date, from the customer's payment terms (60 days for a customer on 60-day terms), instead of after Folioline's Payment terms. If that date has already passed when the invoice is issued, for example for an order held over its account limit and released later, the invoice is due on its own date. Recording the payment later doesn't change an invoice already issued: it keeps its due date. An order paid before its invoice is issued gets an invoice marked paid.
Fieldline
If a Fieldline checkout field looks like a VAT number (a label or key such as "VAT number", "USt-IdNr.", "TVA" or "Partita IVA"), Folioline shows a notice on its settings page and the Plugins screen, naming the field.
Two VAT number fields confuse customers, and only Folioline's checks the number and takes VAT off. Click Edit checkout fields and remove the Fieldline field, or turn off VAT number field under WooCommerce → Folioline → VAT if you'd rather keep yours (VAT then isn't taken off for business customers). Dismiss hides the notice until another such field is added.
Other tax and VAT plugins
- Tax exemption plugins: Folioline uses WooCommerce's own VAT exemption and only removes an exemption it set itself, so customers another plugin marks as tax exempt stay exempt.
- Another EU VAT number plugin: use one or the other, not both, or customers are asked twice and the two may disagree about VAT.
- Another invoice plugin: two plugins numbering invoices give you two series for the same orders. Turn off the other plugin's invoices, or untick every status under Issue invoices at while you move over.
