# Troubleshooting - Stockpool 1.x documentation

> What to check when a product's stock doesn't follow its pool, the numbers look wrong, or an order didn't take stock.

## A product doesn't follow its pool

1. **Check the link.** Open the product's **Inventory** tab: is the pool under **Shared stock**? For a variation, open its panel: a variation with pools of its own ignores the product's.
2. **Check the pool is active.** A paused pool is ignored; its products sell on their own stock settings. The pool list's **Paused** view shows them.
3. **Check the pool's page.** **Used by** lists every product that uses it. If the product isn't there, it isn't linked.
4. **Clear your cache.** Product pages are often cached; check in a private window after clearing your caching plugin's or host's cache.

## The product page shows a different number than I expect

The number is how many of *this product* the pools can cover, not the pool's stock: 7.5 m of fabric at 2 m per hoodie is 3 hoodies. With several pools, the lowest wins. If the product also tracks its own stock, that limit applies too. Stock held for orders in checkout is counted as gone in the cart, but not on the product page.

## The product shows out of stock, but the pool has stock

- Another pool the product uses has run out. Check **Can sell now** on the product's Inventory tab and each pool's state.
- The product tracks its own stock, and that has run out.
- The pool has less than one item's worth left: 1.9 m at 2 m per item is 0.

## An order didn't take pool stock

- The order hasn't reduced stock yet: pending orders don't, processing and on-hold orders do.
- **Enable stock management** is off in WooCommerce's inventory settings.
- The product wasn't linked to the pool when the order was placed. Orders keep the pools they had at the time.

## A pool went below zero

Only orders that skipped checkout's hold can do this, such as an order created or edited on the order screen. The order has a note saying which pool. Restock the pool, or change the order.

## A pool says it has rules or is a kit "saved with Stockpool Pro"

Attribute rules and kits are part of Stockpool Pro. They stay saved on the pool, but while Stockpool Pro isn't active, rules don't link products and a kit sells from its own stock shown on the page. Activate Stockpool Pro to use them again.

## Still stuck?

Temporarily switch to a default theme such as Twenty Twenty-Five, with only WooCommerce and Stockpool active. If it works there, the difference is in your theme or another plugin. Ask in the [Stockpool support forum](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/stockpool/) on WordPress.org, with the pool, the product's Inventory tab and what you expected. Stockpool Pro customers can also contact us through [extendiment.com](https://extendiment.com).
