# Stock history and alerts - Stockpool 1.x documentation

> Add, remove or set a pool's stock with a note, read its history, and get an email when it runs low or out.

## Changing a pool's stock

Open the pool and use the row under the big stock figure:

1. Choose **Add** (a delivery), **Remove** (damage, samples, offcuts) or **Set to** (a stock count).
2. Enter the amount. A line below shows the stock after saving, so a typo is easy to spot.
3. Add a reason if you like, such as "Delivery from Linton Mills" or "Monthly stock count".
4. Click **Save pool**.

The products that use the pool update straight away: their stock line, the quantity they can sell, and their stock status if they ran out or came back.

## The stock history

Every change to a pool is logged, newest first, under **Stock history** on its page:

| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| When | the date and time (hover for the full date) |
| What happened | *Pool created*, *Sold in order #1234*, *Returned from order*, *Restocked from refund*, *Changed by hand*, *REST API* or *Received from a purchase order*, with the note and who made the change |
| Change | how much came in (+) or went out (−) |
| Stock after | the stock once the change was made |

The page shows the last 50 changes. The REST API returns the full history.

## Low stock and out of stock emails

Stockpool emails the store's stock notification recipient when a pool:

- drops to its **Low stock alert at** amount (or the store's low stock amount, if the pool has none), or
- runs out (drops to the store's out of stock amount).

The email says how much is left and how many products and variations are linked to the pool, with a link to the pool. Each threshold sends one email on the way down, not one per sale.

The emails follow WooCommerce's inventory settings: **Notifications** (low stock and out of stock on or off) and **Notification recipient**.
