# The reminder email - Slotline 1.x documentation

> An email to customers a set number of hours before their delivery or pickup, with a link to change it.

> [!NOTE]
> This is part of **Slotline Pro**.

Missed deliveries cost you a second trip. The **Delivery reminder** email tells customers their order is coming, a set time before their slot.

## What it says

- Subject: "Coming up: your order for {booking}", e.g. "Coming up: your order for Tuesday, June 4, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm".
- A greeting, that the order is being delivered (or is ready to pick up), and the date and slot, in slightly larger type.
- While the customer can still change it, a link: "Doesn't suit you any more? You can change it from your account."
- The order details and the customer's addresses, like WooCommerce's other order emails.

It uses your WooCommerce email template (colours, logo, footer).

## Settings

Go to **WooCommerce → Settings → Emails → Delivery reminder**:

- **Enable/Disable**.
- **When**: hours before the time slot starts, 24 by default. Without time slots, hours before the day starts (midnight).
- **Subject**, **Email heading** and **Additional content**, with the placeholders `{booking}`, `{order_number}` and `{order_date}`.
- **Email type**: HTML, plain text or both.

## When it's sent

Slotline Pro checks every 15 minutes for bookings that start within the hours you set, using WooCommerce's scheduled actions. Each booking gets the email once. Orders that are processing or on hold get it; completed, cancelled and pending ones don't.

If the time changes (by the customer from My Account, or by you on the order screen), the reminder is sent again for the new time. Each one is added to the order notes.

> [!NOTE]
> Reminders rely on WordPress's scheduled tasks, which run when your site has visitors. On a quiet site they can go out a little late; a real cron job on your server makes them punctual.

## Customising the template

Copy `templates/emails/slotline-reminder.php` from the Slotline Pro folder to `woocommerce/emails/slotline-reminder.php` in your theme (and `plain/slotline-reminder.php` for the plain text version), then edit the copy.

## For developers

`slotline_reminder_statuses` filters the order statuses that get the reminder (without "wc-").
