# The delivery schedule - Slotline 1.x documentation

> Open days, time slots with capacity, minimum notice, how far ahead customers can book, and a limit of orders per day.

Your delivery schedule decides which dates and time slots customers can choose. It's under **WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → Delivery dates**, in the **Delivery schedule** section.

The schedule applies to every order that ships with a shipping method other than local pickup. Orders with nothing to ship (only virtual or downloadable products) and local pickups aren't asked for a date.

## Delivery dates and Required

- **Delivery dates**: untick it to stop asking for a date altogether, without losing your settings.
- **Required**: when it's ticked, an order can't be placed without a date (and a slot, if the date has slots). Untick it to make the date optional; customers can then leave it empty.

## Open days

The weekdays you deliver. A date on any other weekday is never offered.

## Time slots

Each row is one slot customers can choose:

| Column | What it does |
|---|---|
| **From** and **To** | The slot's start and end time, e.g. 9:00 to 12:00. |
| **Days** | The weekdays this slot runs. Untick Saturday to have a slot on weekdays only. A slot only runs on days that are also open days. |
| **Capacity** | How many orders the slot takes per day. Leave it empty for no limit. |

Click **+ Add slot** for another row, and the bin icon to remove one. Slots are saved in time order, and a row whose end isn't after its start is dropped.

Without any slots, customers choose a date only.

> [!TIP]
> Changing a slot's times makes it a different slot. Orders already booked into the old times keep them; they show on the order and in the orders list as before.

## Capacity: how places are counted

Pending, processing, on-hold and completed orders take a place in their slot. Cancelled, failed and refunded orders don't, so a cancellation frees its place straight away.

When a slot is full, customers see it as **fully booked** and can't choose it. A slot with three places or fewer left shows how many ("2 left"). When every slot of a day is full, the date itself is marked fully booked.

The choice is checked again when the order is placed, so two customers can't both take the last place.

## Minimum notice

How many hours before a slot starts it can still be booked. With 24 hours' notice, tomorrow's 9 am slot can be booked until 9 am today. Use half hours if you need them (e.g. 1.5).

Without time slots, the notice applies to the day: the first date is the date it will be once the notice has passed. With 24 hours' notice, an order placed at 3 pm on Monday can be delivered from Tuesday (24 hours later is Tuesday 3 pm). With 0, today is on offer too.

## Book ahead

How many days ahead customers can book, counted from today. With 14, today and the next 14 days are on offer (subject to the open days and the notice).

## Orders per day

A limit of orders for the whole day, on top of each slot's capacity. Leave it empty for no limit. When a day reaches it, all its slots show as fully booked.
