# FAQ - Sheetline 1.x documentation

> Short answers about saving, revisions, permissions, other plugins, Sheetline Pro and your data.

## Is anything saved before I click Save changes?

No. Edits stay in the grid, highlighted, until you click **Save changes**. Leaving the screen or changing the page asks before throwing them away.

## Is it safe to edit many posts at once?

Each post is saved through WordPress, as in the editor, and checked first: a post with a change that isn't allowed isn't saved at all. Titles and excerpts you change are kept in the post's revisions. Sheetline Pro also keeps the last 500 saves and can undo any of them.

## Does it need WooCommerce?

No. Sheetline works on any WordPress site. For WooCommerce products, our Gridline plugin is the bulk editor.

## Can I edit custom post types?

Sheetline edits posts and pages. A Bulk Editor for any public custom post type, with its taxonomies, is part of Sheetline Pro. Developers can add a post type themselves with the `sheetline_post_types` filter.

## Can I edit custom fields, featured images or SEO titles?

Sheetline Pro adds columns for custom fields (plain ones, and fields made with ACF, Meta Box or Pods), featured images, and the SEO title and description of Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO. Developers can add any field as a column with the `sheetline_columns` filter.

## Can I change one field for many posts at once?

In Sheetline you edit each cell, and save them all together. Sheetline Pro adds bulk changes: set a value, add text before or after, find and replace, add or remove categories and tags, change the status, author or date, for the selected posts or every post your filters find, with a preview before anything is saved.

## Does it work with other plugins?

Yes. Saves go through WordPress, so plugins that react to post changes (caches, SEO plugins, search indexes) see them. Plugins can also add their own columns.

## Can I export or import a spreadsheet?

Sheetline Pro exports the grid as a CSV file, and imports a CSV back to update posts by ID, with a preview of every change first.

## Who can use the Bulk Editor?

People who can edit posts (or pages, for pages): administrators, editors and authors by default, and contributors for their own drafts. Each post and field follows what their role allows.

## What is Sheetline Pro?

A separate add-on for Sheetline, which stays installed. It adds custom post types, custom fields, featured images, SEO fields, bulk changes with a preview, undo and history, CSV export and import, and adding and duplicating posts in the grid. See [extendiment.com/plugins/sheetline](https://extendiment.com/plugins/sheetline).

## What happens to my data if I delete Sheetline?

When you click **Deactivate** on the Plugins screen, Sheetline asks what should happen to its data if you then delete the plugin. **Keep it** (the default) leaves everyone's column and posts-per-page choices in place for a reinstall. **Delete it permanently when the plugin is deleted** removes them when you delete Sheetline. Your posts and pages, and every change saved to them, are never deleted.

## Can I translate Sheetline?

Yes, on [translate.wordpress.org](https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/sheetline/). Translations made there reach your site through WordPress's normal updates.
