# Installing Returnline Pro - Returnline 1.x documentation

> Upload the Returnline Pro zip, activate it next to Returnline, enter your license key and choose what customers can ask for.

Returnline Pro is an add-on: it adds exchanges, store credit, returns without an account, photos and return labels to Returnline, which stays installed and keeps doing everything else. You need both.

## Before you start

- **WooCommerce** and **Returnline** 1.0.0 or later, installed and active. If you don't have Returnline yet, install it from **Plugins → Add New Plugin** (search for "Returnline"); see **Installation**.
- The **returnline-pro.zip** file and the **license key** from your purchase email. Both are in the email Lemon Squeezy sent after you bought Returnline Pro.

## Install and activate

1. Go to **Plugins → Add New Plugin** and click **Upload Plugin** at the top.
2. Choose `returnline-pro.zip` and click **Install Now**.
3. Click **Activate Plugin**.

WordPress won't activate Returnline Pro while Returnline or WooCommerce is inactive; it lists what's missing instead. Activate those first.

Activating creates a **Returns** page for returns without an account (unless you already have one). See **Returns without an account**.

## Enter your license key

Back on the **Plugins** screen, there's a box under Returnline Pro:

1. Paste the license key from your purchase email.
2. Click **Activate**.

The box turns green and shows the end of your key and, for a yearly license, the date your updates run until. See **Licenses and updates** for moving it to another site.

> The features work as soon as the plugin is active, with or without a license. The license is what lets WordPress download updates.

## Choose what customers can ask for

Go to **WooCommerce → Settings → Returns**. Returnline Pro adds its settings to Returnline's:

- **Customers can ask for**: refund, exchange and store credit, or any of them. Refund and exchange are on to start with; add **Store credit** if you offer it.
- **Photos**, **Exchange price differences** and **Store credit valid for**, under the restocking fee.
- **Without an account** and **Returns page**, under the account page address.

## While Returnline Pro isn't active

Everything stays saved: your settings, the Returns page, and every return with its replacement order, coupon, photos and label. Returnline shows those returns without the Pro parts, and as soon as Returnline Pro is active again, they're all back, with nothing to set up again.
