# Emails - Preorderline 1.x documentation

> The three customer emails Preorderline sends, and how to change or switch them off.

Preorderline sends three emails to customers. They are regular WooCommerce emails: they use your store's email colours, header image and footer, and each can be edited or switched off under **WooCommerce → Settings → Emails**.

| Email | Sent when | Says |
|---|---|---|
| **Pre-order received** | An order first enters Pre-ordered | When the pre-order is expected, and that there's nothing else to do |
| **Pre-order date changed** | You change the release date of a product with waiting pre-orders | The new date |
| **Pre-order released** | The order moves to Processing after a release | That the pre-order is on its way |

Each email shows the order's details below its message, like WooCommerce's own order emails.

## Editing the texts

Click **Manage** next to an email to change its subject, heading and additional content. The subject and heading can use:

- `{order_number}`: the order number,
- `{order_date}`: when the order was placed,
- `{release_date}`: the release date.

## WooCommerce's own emails

- When an order goes to Pre-ordered, WooCommerce doesn't send its "Processing order" email, since nothing is being prepared yet. The customer gets **Pre-order received** instead.
- When it's released and moves to Processing, the customer gets **Pre-order released** instead of WooCommerce's "Processing order".
- Your **New order** email to the store is sent as usual.

## Overriding the template

The emails share one template. To change their layout, copy `templates/emails/preorderline-order.php` from the plugin to `yourtheme/preorderline/emails/preorderline-order.php` (and `plain/preorderline-order.php` for plain-text emails) and edit the copy.
