# Where options appear - Optionline 1.x documentation

> The product page, the shop's buttons, the cart and checkout, the order, My Account, emails and "Order again".

## On the product page

The fields sit in the add-to-cart form, just above the **Add to cart** button, with the live total under them. That's the same place in classic themes and in block themes' Add to Cart blocks, for simple and variable products.

## In the shop

A product with a **required** option can't be added straight from the shop page, a category page or a product block, since the customer has to make a choice first. Its button reads **Select options** and leads to the product page, as WooCommerce does for variable products.

Products whose options are all optional keep their **Add to cart** button and are added without options.

## In the cart and at checkout

The options are listed under the product, each with what it added: "Gift box (+$5.00)". That's in the Cart and Checkout blocks, the mini cart, and the classic cart and checkout pages. The product's price in the cart includes its options.

If a customer adds the same product with the same options again, the cart line's quantity goes up. With different options, it becomes a separate line, so each line keeps its own choices.

## On the order

Each option is saved on the order item as a readable detail, such as **Gift wrap: Ribbon box (+$4.50)**. WooCommerce shows these:

- on the order screen in **WooCommerce → Orders**,
- on the order confirmation page,
- in **My Account → Orders**,
- in WooCommerce's order emails, to the customer and to the store.

The order keeps the options and prices as they were when it was placed, even if you change the product's options later.

## Order again

When a customer clicks **Order again** on a completed order in My Account, the products go back in the cart with the same options, priced as they are now. If an option no longer fits — you removed a choice, or added a required field — that product isn't added, and WooCommerce says why.
