# Installing Optionline Pro - Optionline 1.x documentation

> Upload the Optionline Pro zip, activate it next to Optionline, and enter your license key.

Optionline Pro is an add-on: it adds global option groups, conditional fields, more field types, price types and limits to Optionline, which stays installed and keeps doing everything else. You need both.

## Before you start

- **WooCommerce** and **Optionline** 1.0.0 or later, installed and active. If you don't have Optionline yet, install it from **Plugins → Add New Plugin** (search for "Optionline"); see **Installation**.
- The **optionline-pro.zip** file and the **license key** from your purchase email. Both are in the email Lemon Squeezy sent after you bought Optionline Pro.

## Install and activate

1. Go to **Plugins → Add New Plugin** and click **Upload Plugin** at the top.
2. Choose `optionline-pro.zip` and click **Install Now**.
3. Click **Activate Plugin**.

WordPress won't activate Optionline Pro while Optionline or WooCommerce is inactive; it lists what's missing instead. Activate those first.

## Enter your license key

Back on the **Plugins** screen, there's a box under Optionline Pro:

1. Paste the license key from your purchase email.
2. Click **Activate**.

The box turns green and shows the end of your key and, for a yearly license, the date your updates run until. See **Licenses and updates** for moving it to another site.

> [!NOTE]
> The features work as soon as the plugin is active, with or without a license. The license is what lets WordPress download updates.

## Check it works

- **WooCommerce → Product Options** is a new screen for global option groups. See **Global option groups**.
- On a product's **Options** tab, the **Type** list now has number, quantity, date, colour picker, image swatches, colour swatches and file upload, and each field has **Price type**, **Charge**, limits and **Show this field** settings.
- The Options tab also lists the global groups that apply to the product.
