# Requirements - Fieldline 1.x documentation

> The WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions Fieldline needs, and the checkouts and themes it works with.

## Versions

| | Minimum |
|---|---|
| WordPress | 6.5 |
| WooCommerce | 8.9 |
| PHP | 7.4 |

Fieldline is tested with the latest WordPress and WooCommerce releases. Keep WooCommerce up to date: in the Checkout block, your fields are WooCommerce's own additional checkout fields, and that part of WooCommerce keeps improving.

## Checkouts

Fieldline works with both of WooCommerce's checkouts, and with both at once if you have more than one checkout page:

- **The Checkout block**, the default for new stores. Your fields are registered with WooCommerce's additional checkout fields API, so the block shows, checks and saves them itself.
- **The classic checkout**, the `[woocommerce_checkout]` shortcode, used by many themes and page builders. Fieldline adds the same fields there and saves them in the same place.

An order looks the same on the order screen and in emails whichever checkout placed it.

## Order storage

Fieldline works with both of WooCommerce's order storage options, **High-performance order storage** and the older **WordPress posts storage**, and with the compatibility mode that keeps them in sync. You don't need to change anything when you switch.

## Themes and page builders

Fieldline doesn't override any templates. In the Checkout block, the fields are drawn by WooCommerce in your theme's style. In the classic checkout they're WooCommerce form fields, the same markup as the name and address fields, so they pick up your theme's styling too.

## Multisite

Fieldline can be network-activated. Each site has its own fields and settings.
