# Statuses and approval - Bookline 1.x documentation

> What each booking status means, and how to approve bookings yourself.

| Status | Means | Keeps its time? |
|---|---|---|
| **Pending** | Waiting for you to approve it. | Yes |
| **Confirmed** | Going ahead. | Yes |
| **Completed** | It took place. | Yes |
| **No-show** | The customer didn't come. | Yes |
| **Cancelled** | Cancelled by the customer or you. | No: the time is free again |

## Confirm straight away, or approve each booking

Under **Bookline → Settings → General → New bookings**:

- **Confirm them straight away** (the default): customers are booked at once and get the "Booking confirmed" email.
- **Approve each one yourself**: new bookings are **Pending**. They hold their time, and the customer gets "Booking request received". Confirm or cancel each one from the list (**Confirm** row action, or bulk actions) or the booking's screen; the customer gets the "confirmed" or "cancelled" email.

The **Bookline** menu shows how many bookings are waiting.

## Completed and no-show

These are for your records: mark past bookings from the list's row actions or in bulk. (Bookline Pro can mark bookings completed on their own once they're over, and send a follow-up email.)

## Restoring a cancelled booking

Change its status back on the booking's screen. If its time has been booked since, Bookline says so and keeps it cancelled.
